How to Recognize National and Regional Highways on Google Maps

Suppose you go from Dhaka to Chittagong. If you set the location in Google Maps, you will see a code called N1 in the middle of the road being shown to you.

Do you know what this code means? N1 means 'National Highway 1' or 'National Highway 1'. Thus the national highway codes of Bangladesh are N1, N2, N3, N4, N5, N6, N7, N8 in this order.

You can go to Teknaf via N1 from Dhaka via Chittagong. On this way, you will get to several districts including Narayanganj, Comilla, Noakhali. To go to these districts, get off the N1 and enter the district road. And these street codes are usually three digits. Eg: From N1 towards Rangamati you have to use N106 road.

The N2 National Highway will take you from Dhaka to Sylhet Tamabil. On this route you will find Narsingdi, Bhulta, Shaistaganj, Mirpur, Sherpur, Srimangal, Habiganj, Moulvibazar.

To go to these districts from N1 you have to look for the district road. For example: On the way to Sylhet you will see the N207 road along the N1. Moulvibazar and Srimangal will be seen only after crossing this road.

Besides N1 Dhaka to Mymensingh, N1 Dhaka to Jamalpur, N5 Dhaka to Aricha via Rangpur and Banglabandha, N1 Dhaka to Rajshahi via Chapainawabganj, N1 Daulatdia to Khulna and Mongla and N8 Dhaka to Banga to Barisal and Patuakhali.

By looking at these codes and determining the location on the map, you will see the correct time and the correct route.
